Suburbs

Need a break from the hustle and bustle of Nashville? Explore the charming towns nearby, where you can unwind, soak in picturesque scenery, and feel like you’ve stepped into a Hallmark movie. You might even spot a celebrity or two! (But remember, we respect their privacy.) Use this itinerary to discover the quaint and delightful side of Tennessee for a perfect day out.

Spend The Day In The Suburbs

  • I hope you’re hungry! You are headed to my absolute favorite brunch spot in Nashville!! Buttermilk Ranch.

There will be a line when you get there, it’s worth the wait. I would get your name in and go shop! (Locals secret, you can get in line early if you book on Yelp when you are on your way there!)

You have GOT to start with the Loaded Ranchers for the table. Seriously.

I don’t drink alcohol but if you do, they are known for their cocktails. They also make GREAT coffee drinks and mock tails. The Nashville Sunrise Juice… yum.

I would typically tell you what I recommend here but you really can’t go wrong with a single thing. Everything you get will be delicious. So go with whatever your heart desires here.

  • This is your time to splurge and see the latest trends in fashion, Nashville has got it but 12 South is the root of it!

Here is the order I would go to make it not so back and forth:

    • Love ShackFancy Savant

    • Vintage Gorjana

    • Emerson Grace

    • Sewing Down South

    • Vinnie louiseMolly Green

    • Moda Nashville looks good on you mural (picture op!)

    • Finleys

    • Draper James

    • Vuori Madewell

  • You will hop in an Uber from 12 South to Downtown Franklin. Downtown Franklin looks just like a Hallmark Movie. Actually, a few have been filmed here! You’ll want to walk around the square down one full side and then the other side.

Grays on main or O’ Be Joyful are right next to each other and a great drink spot, this used to be a pharmacy ( I used to work here, go have a drink at the bar on the second floor but don’t eat lunch, you have other plans!)

I would also swing by Imago Di and Tin Cottage. Great shopping.

Make sure you’re hungry! Next stop, lunch.

  • You could walk here but I would jump in an Uber if you can. I’ll leave it up to you! put it in your maps and you’ll decide on the spot :)

You’re headed to lunch at my favorite restaurant of all time! I go here for my birthday every year. Well, and any chance I can get.

Not a fancy steak house or something crazy… a taco shop. This is inside an old stove factory which now has great food, shopping and cocktails.

    So for my recommendation…

You can get any taco made into a bowl BUT they have a 2 tacos and a side meal, do that.

I highly suggest the Green Chile Cheeseburger taco and the Korean Cauliflower (add adobo chicken to it!) taco with rice for your side.

Make sure to get chips and salsa for the table.. the salsa is amazing. If you get all of this, please send me a review. LOL

If you need something sweet after, Jenni’s Ice Cream or 5 Daughters Bakery.

Jenni’s is some of the best ice cream you will ever have, and this is what you are smelling when you walk in the Factory… the waffle cones. If you’re a donut person, you have to go try the 100 layer donut.

  • Make sure you grab a coffee at Honest Coffee in the Factory if you need a quick pick me up!

Next, hop in an Uber you’re headed to Leiper’s Fork! This is where a lot of the celebs live.. be on the lookout but remember PLEASE give them their privacy they chose to live here for a reason :)

When you arrive, head over to the wine store (Wine in the Fork) and grab a bottle and take it to the creek in the back and sit at their tables!

You and your friends and go sit in a table that is in a creek! It’s beautiful. If you don’t want to do that, there is a little grassy area by Fox and Locke you can go hangout and relax at as well. Fox and Locke is a great place for music and you’ll see a lot of locals stop in here. This town is so cute.

    Ideally you’ll have dinner here!

    I recommend:

Fried pickles for the table, you have to, you’re in TN!

For your meal: The meat and two or meat and three will definitely be your best option but I will forever recommend a burger. Always. Enjoy your BBQ fix while you listen to music and hang out with the locals! Try and chat with some people, you never know who you will meet.

Dessert: Mud Cake and Maple Pecan Pie

Have so much! Take this little town in, it’s a slice of heaven.

If you have time… there is a cool spread easy in the Country Boy restaurant!! Check that out too!!

  • This will be your last stop of the night!

You made it! It’s been a long day!

If you are looking to still go out and make the most of while you are in town, then head to Printers Alley.

This will keep you in Nashville, but you will stay away from the rap, shoulder rubbing and constantly being hit on. Printers’ alley is a quaint little strip of some more lax bars.

    Printer Alley Stops:

    • Bourbon Street Blues Bar

    • Lonnie’s Western Room

    • The Whiskey Shot

    • Dirty Little Secret

    • Alley Taps
