Columbia, Tennessee
Downtown Columbia, Tennessee, also known as “Muletown,” offers a mix of historic charm, unique shops, and delicious eateries. Here’s a day itinerary to enjoy the best of what it has to offer!
-
I’m excited for this day! It’s very different than your typical Nashville day!
BAD Donuts is a locally loved donut shop known for its small-batch, hand-crafted donuts made with high-quality ingredients and bold, creative flavors. There are options like brown butter bourbon, crème brûlée, and seasonal specialties, making each visit a new experience. You can even pick your own toppings for your donut!
IF you are looking for that good ole’ southern breakfast, Pucketts Grocery is going to be your way to go. Go hungry and not counting calories you can’t go wrong with ANYTHING on this menu. -
Step back in time at the James K. Polk Home & Museum, the only remaining residence of the 11th U.S. president outside of the White House. This home was built in 1816, and offers a fascinating look into Polk’s early life and presidency. Explore the original furnishings, personal artifacts, and exhibits detailing his impact on American history. Don’t miss the tranquil gardens and the museum shop for unique historical finds. A must-visit for history lovers! ⏳🏛️

I LOVE the square. This is the place to be in Columbia.
It’s charming little town filled with boutiques, local artisans shops, and other small businesses. Antiques, home décor, trendy fashion and handcrafted goods are what you will find.
The square also has a few coffee shops, and specialty stores (the health store is SO FUN). This is a very welcoming, small-town atmosphere, feels like a movie! Whether you're searching for a one-of-a-kind gift or simply enjoying the local charm,
Columbia’s square is the perfect spot to spend an afternoon. Also, make sure to stop at Teds, right down from Muletown Coffee. (YUM)

For lunch I put a couple options depending on what you are in the mood for!
you are headed to Prime & Pint, ( I work here!)
A local favorite in Columbia known for its high-quality steaks, an AMAZING burger, and craft beer/cocktails. It’s a VIBE in here! Whether you're in the mood for a classic steak or a creative burger, Prime & Pint delivers a satisfying and flavorful dining experience. I recommend:
Start with Buratta and a Ceasar for the table
Prime Burger (how it comes, minus pickles because I don’t like pickles)
This will also come with our truffle fries, YUM. Make sure to dip these in some Prime sauce. Also, there is a DELICIOUS of menu cocktail called the 1864. GET IT. You can thank me later :)
Save room for a piece of carrot cake for the table. This cake will be my wedding cake when I get married.
Once you are done here, make sure to go out to Living 615 and the Linen Duck. These are a few doors down, fun shopping. I would still head to Bradley Mountain coffee too! Great spot to get a pick me up and sit with you spouse/friends for some good conversation.
This place is unbelievable, one of the best cold cut deli’s in the state! The sandwiches are MASSIVE, you won’t leave hungry. I like “the new kid” sandwich with chips. You can also make your own Sammy! YUM. If you decide here, make sure you go out back to the Bradley Mountain Coffee shop behind to get a pick me up and sit for some good conversation.

The Columbia Factoryis a revitalized historic space that has been transformed into a dynamic hub for shopping, dining, and community events. This a just an interesting indoor shopping building it’s crazy how much it has changed. The Factory is a must-visit destination for those looking to experience the city’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit.
Head back to the square
Taps on Main- here you will grab a table and a board game and hangout with friends. Taps on main is a great people watching spot but they also have a shelf of board games to play at your table while choosing from TONS of beers on draft. This will be your time to sit back and relax.

Just a few doors down from Taps, go have a cocktail at American Barrel.
This is just a vibe and a fun little place. (Great spot for pictures too!) LOL
-
I. AM. SO. EXCITED for you to go here! This is a local family owned restaurant with INCREDIBLE food.
You cannot go wrong with one single thing here, just go with your heart. Ugh, my mouth is watering so bad just typing this!
-
Right around the corner is Hattie Jane’s Creamery!
Best ice cream in town. I know you are probably stuffed but they have SMALL sizes and it’s a must try.
Flavors are always changing but dang it’s good! Their brownies are AMAZING if you have a chocolate sweet tooth.

Stop 10-11… pick your vibe.
Option 1: Mulehouse Show
popular live music venue that brings a vibrant mix of entertainment to the heart of the city. Known for its intimate atmosphere and high-quality acoustics, it hosts a variety of events, from concerts by local and national artists to comedy shows and private events. With its modern design and welcoming vibe, The Mulehouse offers a unique spot to enjoy great music, drinks, and an unforgettable experience in downtown Columbia.
OR
If you are up for an adventure with ALL of the locals. Head over to the REBEL.
HAHA. It’s a great time and some of the best people watching and horrible karaoke you will ever see!
This is a little house in the middle of the neighborhood where there is a bar inside with karaoke but then you can go out to the back porch and sit by a fire pit and listen to more karaoke. It’s always a GREAT time.
I hope it was a FUN day and you experienced Muletown as you should.
