Halfway Market is good if you are looking for a little hometown restaurant. If you are looking for a good ole’ southern breakfast, head to Puckett’s!
Puckett’s has a few locations around town and you cannot go wrong with anything.
Make sure that you go hungry and you don’t count calories here.
For the table as a starter: Skillet Cinnamon Rolls
Breakfast: Smoked Brisket Hash or The Southern.
Biscuit Love:
If you are looking for more of a picturesque place and not counting carbs, this is your place.
For a biscuit sammy, I would def go with the East Nasty. If your looking for something other than that, the Hungry Hash Bowl. You will not have anything that is not good here.

Downtown Franklin is a very historic place.
You will see that with all of the different homes, buildings and even the old Franklin There.
With that said I highly suggest going to one of the history tours. I’m not into that kind of thing, at all, but! the Carter House kept me interested and I actually learned quite a bit.
They will even take you into the houses that people would live in during battle and you will see all of the bullet holes from the Battle of Franklin.
The Lotz House is across the street and the Carton is down the street but I recommend the Carter.
-
After this tour, you can walk across the street to the Fainting Goat Coffee Shop!
This coffee shop is hands down the best coffee I have ever had. Make sure to get something off of their “seasonal menu.”
Gosh, I love this place! I actually have one walking distance to my house, it’s dangerous. (If have the Kettle Corn Latte, get it.)
-
This place was on Diners, Drive- Ins, and Dives, you’re in for a treat! Head to 55 South! You can definitely walk from The Fainting Goat if the weather is nice.
First of all, I love Wedge salads. (WITH EXTRA BLUE CHEESE CRUMBLES)
For the table:
I would recc Queso and Smoked Brisket (HOLY COW) and the Fried Pickles.
For your meal: NOLA Cheesecake, Fish Tacos or Fried Green Tomato and Pimento Cheese BLT (I like to add a grilled chicken breast to it)
They are also known for the oysters… I’m not an oyster fan so I can’t speak to that but I know people who go there for those specifically. Don’t get dessert here! You’re headed next door.
-
Head next door to Kilwins! I’m sure you smelled it before you went to lunch.
I can’t say what to get here because everyone’s favorite ice cream is so different.
Make sure to get some fudge.. they are known for it!!
If you were to ask me what my favorites are:
Raspberry Greek Yogurt
Pistachio
Two Berry Pie
Cake Batter
Kilwin’s Track
Mint Cookies and Cream
Cappuccino Chocolate Chip

Option 1: head to the Factory to do a little bit of of indoor shopping in what used to be a stove factory!
There are some great little shops here. Take your time and stroll. Oh, and make sure to go at least LOOK at the 100 layer donut at 5 Daughters Bakery, it’s crazy!
Option 2 - Natchez Trace and Leiper’s Fork
*12 min drive to Natchez Trace! If you would rather leave DT Franklin for a little and get out to explore, I highly recommend driving out to on Natchez Trace and making your way to Leiper’s Fork. It’s a 12 min drive from Franklin. BEAUTIFUL scenery and will lead you a quaint little town with Leiper’s Fork Distillery, country stars and beautiful homes.
Please be respectful of the starts in town, this is their home, we do not bother them :)
-
Time to experience the Harpeth Hotel. This is a lot more chill vibe.
Take some time to rest your feet! Have great fellowship and enjoy your time in town.
Take it easy on the cocktails, you have a few other places to go!
-
Here is another great cocktail bar. Culamar.
It’s a NEW rooftop bar!
You will get GREAT view of the square all the way down to the Theatre.
STUNNING.
-
You are headed to dinner! Grays on Main, the towns old pharmacy.
I used to work here, I can say from personal experience the food is GOOOOOOD.
Make sure you get these two things… PIMENTO CHEESE BALLS AND BACON WRAPPED FIGS.
Meal: Heritage Fried Chicken or the NY Strip. Can’t go wrong with any of the sides and make sure to get the banana pudding for dessert.
Now, you can stay here for live music OR come back!
If you decide to come back, make sure to swing into O’ Be Joyful ( the tiny bar next door.)
Very cute hometown bar, you wouldn’t know it’s there as your driving unless you are really paying attention. They are the sister bar of Grays.
-
Hopefully you have decided to do the ghost tour… if so go to the speak easy behind Mellow Mushroom! It’s called Amendment 18 Cocktail Club.
It will be a random door next to the Mellow Mushroom back door and look like a hallway with a random door.
There will be a phone on the wall, they will let you in as long as there isn’t a wait.
I would hang here until the ghost tour starts (if you decide to do that). The tour will more than likely start right outside the door to the left.
-
This is a very popular thing to do here at least once! GHOST TOURS!
This is an hour walking tour! You will need a reservation.
-
Did the tour get you amped up?
Want to go see the towns most hole in the wall bar that makes no sense but will be the place you walk up to and there will be random people sitting on the front porch with a guitar and everyone singing?
Head to Kimbro’s. It’s a house in the middle of a neighborhood down there, head to the back patio, that’s where the action is.
